Maybelline Electro Pop Baby Lips

So recently Australia got some new additions to the Maybelline New York Baby Lips range. The first thing that I noticed about this product is that these are in the American packaging which I was really excited about because I had always liked the pictures that I had seen of it!

Here is a quick overall image of the colours that are currently available in Australia. At the time you could only get them in Target but since then they have been rolled out as a part of the display in all the different stores. This is something that I am thankful for because there are times when I'm really fussy about buying my products from and don't really like to be limited to one place! Again as you can see this is not the usual packaging that is seen in Australia. I am so excited to see this collection in Australia as I do remember it coming out in America and being super jealous that I couldn't get my hands on them because I loved the colour scheme.

While the actually product packaging has changed, the cardboard that it is sold in has not, making it still easy to find on the displays.

Here is Berry Bomb out of the packaging. I think this is a beautiful colour and will get a lot of use that we are now coming into the warmer months here.

Here is a swatch of Berry Bomb. As you can see, these are not as bold as they appear in the bullet. For many this will be a relief and will also be a great way to try new and exciting colours! If you were buying this product expecting it to be a bold colour, think of these like the coloured lip balms that Maybelline also have in their range.

As with all the other Baby Lips, the packaging generally follows the colour scheme of the product. Again making it easier to see in stores.

Again the packaging has been removed. I really like how simple the packaging is and how it is easy to see what it is called from the packaging.

A swatch of Pink Shock. This is the shade that is going to be my favourite because I love to wear pink lips. This being a more sheer shade means I will be able to wear this on minimal makeup days and also when I am just looking for a sheer wash of colour.

Last but not least in this shade. To me this is the most intimidating colour, but that is because I have never been too sure with orange shades.

I am really loving the simple packaging of the Baby Lips and how it corresponds with what the product shade is.

And so for the last swatch. I am glad that these are as bright as they are in the bullet because I think that this is a much more wearable colour. This will be great in the warmer months as this will brighten up your look really quickly.

REVIEW:

I love the Baby Lips range because generally they provide a nice texture on the lips and do keep them moisturized throughout the day. I don't feel this way with this range of the line. I think these are better to be viewed as a Lip Stain rather then a Lip Balm, because these didn't moisturize my lips like the originals have.

But in thinking of these more of a stain then a balm, these are great because they don't go everywhere and leave a lovely stain on the lips when they start to rub off. I loved how these looked and that they made a more natural look feel more relaxed. These are great if you want some colour on your lips but hate the feeling of other lipsticks, glosses or stains. My favourite would defiantly have to be Pink Shock, but that is purely based on the colour.

My one biggest con for this product is the packaging. I'm far to used not having to worry about how I closed the product, it was simply shut the lid and shove it in my bag. As you can see in some of the images above there is still product sticking out. This has not been done by me, but is how the product comes. So if you're in a rush, this wont be your go-to lip balm. One you have used the product more this wont be a problem, but at the start you will need to keep an eye on it to make sure you don't get product everywhere.

OVERALL RATING:
 7/10

PRICE: $3.95 (Priceline)

Let me know what you think!

Cherry Culture Haul plus other purchases

So... Went shopping again, not even gonna hide it. I had received my Cherry Culture haul and then I also went shopping with a friend and she told me I needed some more things in my life and I listened and got them as well!

To start with I am going to talk about the first pallet that I have ever bought for myself. The Balm's Meet Matt(e) Nude is the first glorious product that I bought!

This is the front of the pallet, I think it looks nice because it is a simple cover and the name of the pallet is displayed in a large font making it easy to read and also to see from afar if you need to!

These are the shadows that come with the pallet, and as the name suggests they are all matte! I have only used this twice but I LOVE IT!

If you are desperate for a review then check out the blogger and friend who convinced me that I needed this in my life! Pastelsparkles Review

PRICE: $42 (The Balm)
$49 (David Jones, This is where I bought it but couldn't find this pallet on their website)

Next is onto some products tat you can only get in Australia. These products are by the brand Australis. They are the Velourlips, they have been given a lot of attention from the Australian YouTubers for a very good reason! These are amazing!

These are the two colours that I got this time! They are Mi-a-mee and Ma-li-boo.

This is the colour Ma-li-boo, I love bright pinks and so this is a colour that is right up my ally. I have already worn this once and my only comment so far is that make sure your lips are in good condition otherwise it shows up the flaky spots, to correct this I just put a thin layer of lip gloss over top.

This is the colour Mi-a-mee, this is more of an orangy colour, I don't normally go for these sort of colours but I love how it looked o the back of my hand so I couldn't resist getting it! I haven't yet worn this colour so no comments yet.

PRICE: $9.95 (Priceline)

Next is the big part of the haul, it's also where Cherry Culture comes into the post, over a month ago they had a great sale on the website, I think it was like 60% off store wide, so I got on that and bought a few things. I only bought NYX Butter Glosses, this is because I only really wanted these and also didn't want to spend a butt load of money.

These are all the shades that I bought both from Cherry Culture and Target. I bought some in store because there is 30% off sale at the moment, but I don't know how long that sale is on for.

This is the shade Apple Strudel (Target)

Cherry Pie (Cherry Culture)

Cupcake (Cherry Culture)

Devil's Food Cake (Cherry Culture, also this isn't as brown as it appears in this photo)

Maple Blondie (Target)

Raspberry Tart (Cherry Culture)

Sugar Cookie (Cherry Culture)

I love these so much! I really want to get more of these! There are a couple of places in Australia where you can get your hands on NYX products, it just depends if you want to get it in store or can wait for shipping.

PRICE: $5 (Cherry Culture)
             $9.95 (Target I bought mine for 6.95)

These last products are new to Australia and I was super excited because I am a big lover of this brand and also this product! This is new to Australia but not to America, so Australians get excited if you love these like I do!

The Electro Pop collection Baby Lips from Maybelline New York has come to Australia! These are in the American packaging which makes me even more excited about this collection. These so far are only available are Target, I was surprised that these are not at Priceline.

This is the Berry Bomb, just like in America, these are sheer coloured lip balms so don't be freaked out by the bold colour that is in the tube. I am still excited to try this on!

This next one is called Oh! Orange, I have yet to try this on my lips but I have swatched this on my hand and I like the colour that it gave, again, it's nothing scary so don't freak out!

This is the last shade that is now available at Target, this is the shade Pink Shock, I think that this will be my facourite because I love pink! This was also the most pigmented out of the lot, again not as bright as in the tube but still a lovely colour!

There will be more hauls coming as beauty addicts do go online shopping hehe

But I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what you have picked up recently!

Bye xx

Favourite Lip Balm - Maybelline Baby Lips - Menthol

So today I decided to write about my favourite lip balm! Though I haven't tried many high end lip balms, I have tried a fair few drug store ones (that are available in Australia) and wanted to share my favourite. I understand that lip balm is a totally person thing but if you're looking for a different option here you go!

My all time favourite lip balm is the Maybelline Baby Lips in Menthol. Now to start off it is only this one that is my favourite. I am not a huge fan of all of the other colours and option in the range, it is only the Menthol flavour that is my favourite.

The packaging looks like this! It is a pastel green and blue. This can be a little difficult to read, but it does make it stand out a lot so it's really easy identify.

Like all of the lip balms the shade/flavour the packaging has the name on the side. I find this very useful for when I want to find the lip balm again! Or even better when telling other people which lip balm to get.

This is an image of what the lip balm looks like. It is a clear balm which I really enjoy. It is important to understand that there is a strong smell that goes with these lip balms. If you don't like the smell it will bother you when you are wearing it because if you're not used to it you can still smell it. After roughly half an hour the smell will go away.

PACKAGING:

This lip balm comes in plastic packaging just as you can see above. This is a wind-up lip balm, with the wind-up mechanism at the bottom. This can break when trying to wind the product down (I do this to see how much I have left) but never had a problem winding it up. It doesn't scratch easily, or if it does I can't tell. One good thing about this packaging is if you accidentally wash it, you can still use it. Some people might be disturbed by that, but the lid is secured that tightly that no water got into the product making it fine to still use. The product wasn't affected and I didn't notice any difference in taste or performance.

REVIEW:

These lip balms have a sales pitch of lasting 8 hours, straight off the bat I don't agree with this. I mostly wear this for work because it DOES moisturize my lips really really well, but I personally don't think it lasts 8 hours. When first using this lip balm it does tingle, personally I like how this feels because it means I know that the lip balm is there. There is a distinct smell like I mentioned before, and you can taste it when you lick your lips. It doesn't taste amazing which I actually like because then is discourages lip licking and biting (biting my lips is a nervous/ bored/ I'm hungry habit so having a non pleasent tasting lip balm is a plus for me). In saying that though it is not a horrible taste that you can't stand and want it off your lips as soon as you put it on.

The main reason why I love this lip balm SOOO much is that it helps heal my lips. I get dry lips pretty quickly and so I wear lip balm often because I hate how my lips feel without something on them. But when wearing this I know that I am helping my lips improve. I will generally only wear this at work because it protects my lips from the dry air and also lasts until smoko (which is when I eat and it gets rubbed off).

One thing to note is that if you do leave it in your pocket or a hot place it will make it go soft meaning if you're not paying attention you could swipe a LOT of lip balm all of your lips making it awkward to use and an awkward situation. I have stored it in my bra (maybe TMI but its the truth) and its fine there, it doesn't get hot enough to smear which is good if you don't have pockets!

I also know that this helps heal lips well because after travelling a friends lips were destroyed (I have never seen lips looking that painful and sore) and so I gave him my lip balm. In one week he used the whole thing (super impressive) but his lips were healed and looked great! So it does work. I have also recommended this lip blam to some of my friends and they too have agreed that this is a great lip balm.

I'm super sad though because I believe that they are discontinuing the lip balm in Menthol because I'm finding it more and more difficult to find it in store, and when I do its on sale. I really REALLY hope they aren't getting rid of this lip balm because it means I will lose my favourite. Because of this I have been buying it whenever I see it (which means I have about 5 backups) but it's totally worth it.

Places to find the Baby Lips range are generally anywhere that sells the Mabyelline line, though in stores the variety changes. The most common place for me personally to buy these are at Priceline where they are sold for $3.95 AUD. But because Maybelline goes on sale often all you have to do is wait for the right time to pick one up!

Overall I truly love this lip balm and it's the only one that I have numerous back-ups of. If you see this lip balm I defiantly suggest picking one up to give it a try! You won't regret it!
